An overdraft occurs when there is not enough money in a checking account to cover a transaction. Courtesy Pay is a service that allows us to pay an item presented for payment against your checking account even if it causes an account to be overdrawn. We give members options when it comes to how we handle overdrafts.
Overdraft Transfer
Overdraft Transfer links a primary share account to a checking account or line of credit. This service will transfer available funds from the linked accounts in the order specified to cover an overdraft.
Courtesy Pay
Courtesy Pay is an overdraft privilege that is automatically available to members with an eligible checking account. For each overdraft transaction presented, we pay the item rather than return to the merchant.
Items covered include:
- Checks
- Automatic payments
- Recurring debit card
- Bill pay transactions
- In-person transactions
Courtesy Pay Fee: Please see Fee Schedule.

No Coverage
Members may elect to opt-out of all Courtesy Pay coverage. This means that we will not authorize and pay any transactions that would overdraw the account. These transactions may be returned and will result in a $35 NSF fee. There may also be fees assessed by the payee who received the return item.
